Strange presentation
by aditya kumar on May 06, 2007 12:33 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

This was strange. I was unable to understand how this all fis-in in that Bachchan-UP campaign. What does all this have to do with that?
I am not advocating the Bachchan campaign cause but I find no connection here. As far as sights like these are concerned, as many readers have rightly put here -- you'll find them anywhere in India. In fact this could be the scene out of anywhere in North Indian towns.

In the past I have seen some real good stuff from rediff. But in the bad ones (which kinda, come often now) this ones top of the chart. Bad, bad journalism (if you'd call it that)

Aditya, Bachhan has categorically come on the TV in full support of UP stating that it is one of the best states etc .. hence this article .. atleast we don't expect a person like Bacchhan to take sides with Mulayam and UP especially when he is so much regarded by all people from all over India and abroad .. and then why does he not come on the TV stating that Maharashtra is the best .. coz it is one of the best states and also Mumbai has given him the opportunity and everything what he needed to become what he is today ..Hence this article is a really good one .. kudos to rediff

AB is not because of Maharashtra or Mumbai.
You know better thousands of people came to mumbai for better life but how many get in to.
We knows people will be saying Jai Maratha, Non-Marathi Maharashtra chodo. Also Mumbai is because of outsiders not only because of marathies.

You are right Aditya. It is a very real piece of really bad journalism. I see selective bias against UP in particular and North India in general by the author / photographer.
