fully aggree with the article but govt shall facilitate such deals, with stringent rules and regulations, to prevent parties from adopting bad practices. Farmers politically not united are vulnerable to manipulations.

dear Dinesh, that's what is happening in most of India outside WB.

Private parties are buying land from people directly.

CPIM didn;t allow that in West Bengal, because of many reasons. Primary reason is: They want to keep their huge cadre force engaged in these things.

Its the same as WB in Andhra pradesh too, Near Hyderabad, The Govt is trying to grab land and give it to builders for constructing houses. I don't understand their logic, they are grabbing land from middle class, build houses and again sell it to middle class.
I think congress govt in AP is the worst govt in the country

Arvind,

When was the last time you saw Hyderabad being in the forefront of India? I was in Hyderabad in 1996 and I look it now. There's a big difference. That's how capitalism works. Socialicsm cannot promote growth as we can see what's going on in Europe. You cannot satisfy everyone. So much of construction in Hyderabad has generated in several jobs. Also, with multinationals setting up shops, both blue collar and white collar jobs are growing. Middle Class has more money than we ever had. This growth will have ripple effect which cannot be fathomed in one night. It takes time pal but will be much faster than evils of socialism.
