Who is brahmin?
by Hariharan SY on Mar 29, 2007 01:50 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Brahmin is any person who knows Brahma(God or Oneness). If somebody claims I am brahmin, because my I wear a thread or government asked me to put brahmin as caste. Then they do not know hinduism.

As somebody rightly said, try to become brahmin, again not today's so called brahmin , but brahmin described in vedas who are supposed to be selfless and realized that god is in every human being.

Valmiki was born as chandala, but he became brahmin by deeds. Similarly so many asuras were born to brahmin selfless fathers, but they became low caste by deeds.

It is simple, you belong to each caste by what you do not by birth.

cut this crap. Baghawath gita clearly says, about different groups Brahmins, Kshatriyas, shudras, etc. and it even specifies various punishments for dalits if they try to mix with upper caste. So keep your philosophy with you only.

I think SI stands for Stupid Ignorant. I bet you are just quoting a line which someone else told you about and you have never even touched Bhagvad Gita, forget reading it.

or senile idiot or sterile imposter or...what the hell, this guy is just creating division.just ignore him and his likes. I would want to see hindus as just hindus not brahmins or non-brahmins. Period.

SI:
you are lying...read the Bhagavat Gita then speak.
Unlike a Sruti (like the Vedas),
You are confusing with Manu Smriti(a smriti is a time bound doctrine and can be rejected).

Please ask your Muslim and Christian masters to teach you new propaganda.

Are you serious? Have you ever opened a page of Gita? Crap is at best tolerated coming out of the right place not the mouth. I have read Gita not once but many times. What crass ignorance and distortion? You guys are only here to create division among hindus. And you might even succeed given the fact that our hindu brothers act on emotions rather than intellect. Me included by the way but we would learn..I hope..

Which Bhagwath Gita did you read . Maybe one written by Kanchi Iliah or some christian funded organisation. Can you quote the passage that referring to "punishments for dalits if they try to mix with upper caste".
Infact bhagwath gita says that caste is by "karma" and not "Janma"
