Bengali intellectuals should be more mature and responsible
by Kaushik Sengupta on Mar 19, 2007 05:55 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The literati of West Bengal has justifiably protested the undemocratic handling of incidents & brutality of administration at Nandigram. It is their duty to invoke social responsibility amongst the diaspora. However, they must not overlook the diehard urgency of industrialisation in a state which has been devoid of any sort of industrial progress for the last thirty years. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya is a reformist face amongst the CPIM mandarins. He has built up an environment for investemnt to pour in. He should be supported from all corners for the effort he & his team are putting in.Incidents like Nandigram, are politically motivated to stall this progress & heckle a person who has enough mettle to swing industry for the cause of Bengal

These intellectuals have now become mature enough to understand what Budhdha babu really is.Till 13th March they have beieved in all the lies he said but once his mask dropped, they have started to realise what a bruatl charected he can be.If he had a bit of self respect,we would have seen him resigning by now.
