Its a good piece of recorded information we got a chacne to read today otherwise we only heard about accession of kashmir or Maharaj agreeing to handover Kashmir to India. This kind of historical facts should be told to the new generation of india who still is ignorant about it.I being 52 yrs old came to know today abt Kashmir. India GOT kashmir with the wish n will of the then Maharaja of Kashmir so it becomes integeral part of India NOW. At those days India had some Kingly estates left which were ruled by the then respective Kings so was Kashmir. We also heard that Hydrabad King, being muslim dominated at that time, wanted to join Pakistan. But keeping in view the geographical location of Hydrabad it was not possible to give away Hydrabad or allow him to join Pakistan, then It was Sardar Patel who made it possible to merge it with India. From there Sardar Patel was nick named as 'Iron Man'
What I feel is that both stories are similar, in one case Hydrabad was forcibly merged with india & on the other hand Kashmir was willingly handed over to India by the then Maharaja.
good to see ur approach, admire it, we all should see facts and not have any convictions-- now a small piece of addition. as mentioned in the article about the attack of pakistan on kashmir 2 months into its inception-- all agreed but then starts the propoganda-- as a kashmiri we grow on folklores of the kabbali invasion of kashmir and they did everythin ecept loot and rape, my great grandmother who died about 15 years ago would tell us tales, then my grand ma wo passed away about 5 years ago reiterated the same, grand dad who passed last year reverberated the same emotions, as u may know the ruler was a hindu and he felt threatned that he will loose his kingdom and hence the treaty with india, and IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND the treaty was a standin one i.e not final he wanted to know the opinion of people before he signed the final declaration-- this comment has been erased and swept under the carpet-- also remember the first UN resoltion on kashmir was fully agreeded by both india and pakistan but yet has to see the light of the day--- we were promised a pelibisite under un observation which hasnt happened--- all we had rigged elections and 1989 was the end of our tether, as jammat islami had swept the polls with an thunder only to be rigged and the workers behind bars-- for ur information Salahudin (the hizb supremo)had won his election but he was put behind bars and his opposite number was declared winner.-- keep ur younger gen informed about these cruel facts

Even if what you say is true ... IT was not done by either center or hindus... I think national conference is predominantly Muslim ... Elections sometimes get rigged in Bihar or UP and else where also but no one takes guns and starts killing innocent .... infants and kids because an election was rigged

Hi Arvind NC is far worse than it can be imagned, poll riggin is their invention-- but dont forget accession of ari singh to india has nothin to do with NC, infact sheilh Abdullah was behind bars at that time, since he was a strong advocate of accession to pakistan, only to remodel his idealogy afterwards and incurrin the wrath of kashmiris.dont forget riggin was not only the reason we took to gun, it was a puzzle in the bigger scheme of things. and to be honest we have always wanted our right to self determination,if pools were not rigged andjammat had come to power, thats precisely what they would have done and India feared that.no one like wars and killin, even we want to live in peace, our kids dont know what that it-- we kashmiris are the worst sufferers of attrocities day in day out but then again i say it on top of my voice we will continue this fight to its logical end by gettin our right-- tried ballot didnt work now givin bullet all the time in the world to acheive it-- and a mis notion among indians, we dont hate you, infact u respect most of u -- u r peace lovin but them u have black sheep every where and vice versa

if we see the political scenario glabally, poll rigging has become a political fashion now a days & the situation which is now in Kashmir is like looking greedily in other's plate. This is what pakistan is doing to kashmir now. If we read the artical above we find that in King Hari Singh forces 50/50 ratio of muslims n hindus was there. Those 50% muslims started revolting against the king so king couldnt bear & he thought best to be a part of India n not Pakistan. Now this grudge in Pakistan's mind doesnt let it be at peace. They(Pakistan) think that they lost a golden opportunity or India snatched their chance of grabbing Kashmir. Here Pakistan is making big mistake by always having proxy war & keep disturbing the HEAVEN on earth. Also those muslims left (who revolted against the king) naturally couldnt bear their defeat so joined Pakistan & keep poising the peaceful mind of local people.
Thus seems the war against local Pandits n hindus got momentum & its like wild fire now, uncontrollable.
The muslims leaving in Kashmir should atleast, by now, should realise that Kashmir if a part of INDIA not pakistan, they should live like other indians be of any religion caste or creed.

Mr M here u go and i quote the article "The Maharaja's forces were 50 per cent Muslim and 50 per cent Dogra" so first he is not talkin about the population and what the writer to tryin to say is 50% from kashmir and hence muslims and 50% dogras i.e jammu but remember there are muslim dogras-- so i dont know how u can reach the conclusion that he was talkin about the population. read and comprehend before u jump the guns.
again u talk about killin innocents and kids but ask ur self who kills them, indian army i ama livin witness to that, last night they killed three youths in bandipora loabellin them as militants and there parenats were shocked as they saw there kids were takin out of their houses in front of them and then killed in a fake encounter---- this is a day to day happenin in kashmir.now if u start talkin about pandits 99% of that was centre sponsored so that the masses of indian populace will hate us fo what we r doin-- i take responsibility for some attrocities that happened to them but similar attrocities were meted to kashmiri muslims by militants as well, as i said u have bad people everywhere. i have grown in kashmir and seen it all politics is a dirty game and it plays havoc with humanity-- also put that to the gross miscalculation og GOI in askin pundits to leave the valley

shut up u joker, we r talkin about the reason we kashmiris resoted to bullets, india can be more democratic or pkistaaanfor all i care is 2 hoots, all i am interested in is seein the back of the hooliganist indian army from our streets, now if u cant discuss it with in this frame work dont bother puttin ur irrelevant paki bashin comments coz i aint interested in that. i only want u indians to know what has happened so far how promises have been broken and how media propaganda was unravelled so that people who know nothin about kashmir will start hatin us day one. why so far no UN resolution has been honoured (for ur info these un resolutions are jointed acknowledged by india and pakistaan)primarily amongst bein right to self determination under UN supervision.
