The Election should as per will of the people of India and not as per the individual or committee made of some politician. This is the heigest post and being biggest democratic Countary, we the people of India, should have the right to choose First Citizen of our countary. Afterall, MPs and MLAs are also selected by us only.

The present political scenario, where all the posts including sports (BCCI) are occupied by politicians, People of this country are helpless after electing MLAs and MPs.There is no method to force their representatives to elect a deserved candidte as President. After a long time we have an active President of Inida,who is not related to any political party and he represents honesty, commitment selfless service to nation. All the politicians (MPs and MLAs) should rethink and elect him. This should become a practice to elect non political people who contirbute for the country's development as President of India.
