Why are all the Indian Navy ships, army bases, navy bases given hindi names. Why not a single name in a south indian language. We pay the biggest chunk of taxes for these ships anyways, So whats the big deal about naming a ship in one of the four south indian languages, or Assamese or some Nort East Indian language.

coz south indian names will be difficult for Admiral and other cadres to pronounce and understand... By the time they call the ship name in South indian language during war.. enemy would have already attacked us...

This is not hindi this is sanskrit. This is related to 'jal'(water). In hindi generally they use 'pani' for water.

yes its Sanskrit.. and its a combination of two words "Jal" mean water & "Ashwa" mean horse.. the name suggests dat its a Horse in water... a sea horse to be specific... and its a symbol of speed in the water. and from where this nonsense came in... "there isnt a single southindian name" thats bullshit.... guys people like u made it difficult to get our nation all together to be a Superpower... although we are going for it... and we will be a superpower soon...

Indiman just stop this nonsense. If they decide the names in Hindi then let it be. Even, I am Marathi, I am not want to force for names in Marathi language.
