So far there is no word of any nature from Mrs. Patil also over her being choosen as presidential canidate while with the rider from her husband. She as a seasoned devotee of Nehru family only must be surprising with the benediction by Sonia. Mrs. Patil now should rise to the occassion and withdraw in favour of Dr. A P J Kalam.

I agree. She is an unknown candidate. Dr. Kalam is the best man for the job. She should acknowledge that and place national good over her own.

why should she withdraw? she is the nominee of the ruling party and all set to win. Better or worse than the current President, she should not withdraw?
