See What Taslima Nasreen writes:

"Let the pavilions of religion be ground to bits,
let the bricks of temples, mosques, guruduaras, churches be burned in blind fire,
and upon those heaps of destruction
let lovely flower gardens grow, spreading their fragrance.
let children's schools and study halls grow.

For the welfare of humanity, now let prayer halls
be turned into hospitals, orphanages, universities,
Now let prayer halls become academies of art, fine art centers,
scientific research institutes.
Now let prayer halls be turned to golden rice fields
in the radiant dawn,
Open fields, rivers, restless seas.
From now on, let religion's other name be humanity."

Rational is the right word. No christian, hinduu, muslim is going to agree with you. Dogmas still exist however free each religion is.

@ simplyhuman,

Since when u started accepting and practising everything that was printed in name of "SECULARISM" and started moral policeing as what rediff hindus agree with or not.

Thanks god there are not "MODERN" & "SOPHISTICATED" to make up their mind and follow like a herd with every anti religion publication.

for some of us we value and respect our faith and hold it dear and if the " NON_REDIFF Hindus" can't understand the compassion for religion than it shows who is primitive in understanding the faith.

If so, why would they keep trying to "defend" hinduism. YOu find an interesting mix of ppl here. Some are brahmans who explicitly say they want to rule over everyone as it is their birthright. Other hindus try to disaparage other religions for no reason. Other hindus try to justify the closing of temple doors for other on variety of grounds. Most extol the virtues of Modi, BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrandal

Interestingly, hardly any Hindu these days has read even one of the upteen sacred Hindu books and yet they all claim to be ambassadors of Hinduism.

Under all these circumstance how can you equate Hinduism with humanity? It is just another religion which is discovering it can be as fanatic and violent as others.

So, @simplyhuman

Why are crores being spent by the churches form the west to bribe poor tribals to convert or
murder the opposition.(ref andhra,tripura etc.)

Instead of "simply" appreciating the beauty of her writings, you use it to BASH the Hindus.

Shows your true colours.

You dare calling Hindus primitive but seem to conveniently neglect the 1200 or more year old Semetic faiths which are still steeped in pure dogma of that era.

What great hypocrisy.

Reminds me of some pseudo seculars, like Arundhati Roy, Selva teestadand their ilk.

We may be primitive but not stupid.

@simplyhuman

You are right in that we Hindus need to learn our scriptures more.

However Hinuism allows and encourages dicussion and arguments in our faith, unlike other faiths where " you have to blindly accept a certain Dogma without proof" and that guarantees you a ticket to an exclusive "heaven or hell"

Have you ever thought what a bunch of nonsense that is, instead of spending so much effort denigrating Sanatana Dharma.

I can argue any point in my Hindu faith and I am neither a so called Brahmin or a priest.

I AM A HINDU AND VERY PROUD OF IT.

Well said Simply Human. Hinduism is the most tolerant and powerful religion and I proud to be on.
