Test for Hindus
by Simply Human on Jun 13, 2007 11:32 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

No one should be allowed to call himself a hindu without a stringent written test on hinduism. the test should be several days long. It would include questions from all Hindu holy books. The candidate must show mastery over a certain set of rituals and must accept good, bad and the ugly about Hinduism.

People who do not succeed in one attempt must either pick another religion or give up any organized religion or start a new one.

What say?

Ved, puran, upanishad, gita and manusmriti define Hinduism clearly. The testing should be based on the contents of Hindu literature and not on any laws as such. One must pass the exam and must agree with contents of these books.

Then how can those kids call themselves Hindus? Without knowing the scriptures and believing in them, any individual cannot belong to that religion.

50%? More like 90% actually.

Belief in any religion must consist of having a good knowledge of scriptures and believing in them. Otherwise why bother calling your self a Hindu, Xian, Muslim or any other?

This test will get a huge load off of people's chest. They will be free from religion finally.
