Why

Why does any discussion on any article in rediff transcend into one religion is better than the other. The article here is about non hindus or in this case purported non hindus wishing to pay homage to Lord Guruvayurappan. Simply put, read on all deeds of lord krishna and then imagine a group consisting of various faiths approaching lord krishna and asking him, whether we can pay our respects to you or not. What will be the lord, in his infinite wisdom answer. Will it be, only people born hindus come and embrace me, or will it be I will embrace all with good souls or better still(to include me in the group:-)) will it be even with your faults I will embrace every one.

He has already answered it. "All beings r alike to me. None is more dear to me nor hated by me."

Point taken, no god would discriminate thus.

I think some religions, in some interpretations, entrusts its' followers the task of "spreading the word of god", so they would think they are doing a great service to their religion by propping it when there is a seeming problem in another faith.

Also in their infinite "belief" (where is the question of reason in "believing"?), they would genuinely believe, they are doing great service humanity by doing this.
