Hello friends: This issue has been misquoted as a problem originated because of christian trying to enter guruvayoor temple. That's not the case here. In kerala upper caste ( namboothiris, nairs etc) used to follow a matriarchal inheritance system. But some castes like Ezhavas follows patriarchal inheritance. Since Ravi Krishna being an ezhava his religion should be that of his father's ( ie: hindu ) not of his mother's. All Ezhava institutions including SNDP accepts his religion as Hindu. But Tantri at guruvayoor did'nt accept this and considered Ravi Krishna as a non Hindu, following matriarchal rules.
Why Tantri is at fault here?
Because he used the rules followed in his caste to determine the religion of a person belonging to another caste, where the rules are different.
Why Tantri is not at fault ?
Because there is no well defined rules on how to decide whether a person is Hindu or not.
Hope that government will come up with a ruling on how to decide whether a person is Hindu or not so that there will not be any more confusion.
