Every one here is crying for democracy and freedom of expression. What if I come out in front of ur house and give bad words to your family... its my freedom of expression... but wht abt??? uwd u feel good?? Though i might be against u on some issues that does not mean that i can go to any level....
There has to be some line drawn... if you are agaisnt a ideology... fine.. you create your group.. OK.. but then falling below certain levels and using bad words is not acceptab;e. Similarly its also wrong on SS part to go against the cybercafes.. they should have gone to the police first..
Freedom of expression is fine.. but cant it be used for better efforts than this??? Cant we have communities which can think together and against something like terrorism/al qaeda???
Moral of the story is u need to exercise your freedom with some discretion and not misuse it
Most Civilized societies recognise that freedom of artistic expression must necessarily clash with religious sensitivities. In the West, such societies as Britain and Denmark reckon that artistic freedom is so absolute that religious sensitivities are irrelevant. When cultures clash, as they did over the Danish cartoons, each society must decide what balance it prefers.
Our problem in India is that we have no standards, no barriers and no sense of what is acceptable and what is not. Instead, each time the issue erupts, we engage in the same meaningless, finger-pointing debates, and call each other names. No principles are ever discussed. No guidelines are drawn up. No balance is reached.
