Oh Hiten,

Don't hit at India so much!

Already Temeratures have reached near boiling point on these boards.

There are many things that are still not right about India, after 60 blistering (read blustering and filibustering)years, but love and affection for our near and dear environment is not amongst them.

Only Indians, who throw Kachra out of their windows, yet had a chipko movement and only Indians are adept at recycling waste so very efficiently.

And, Thanks to Rediff we all are so much aware of our responsibilities:

Yes Indians are most concerned about global warming and the New Scientist's findings should not be scoffed at.

With all good wishes,

very true
it is just like that
rivers are drying
fields have no crops
I am able to appreciate this in my own village
people are holding land just with an anticipation of real estate growth or things like that
The yield of the crops have gone down
formers are migrating to cities
commiting sucides
no income from crops
dams are just being raised for individual state benefits
we are now importing wheat
