Temple and Hindu
by Akash Malhotra on Jun 07, 2007 12:35 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

I had a very strange experience in a gujrat temple, I belong to west bengal and people think I am a bong based on my accent.

Once me and my family were on tour to Gujrat Dwarka, Somnath and other temples. One day we tried to get into a temple and before we could enter one person asked us where did we belong to and we said calcutta. The next question was asked whether we were hindus we said Yes. then they asked whether we ate non-veg and we said Yes.

and we were shocked that myself and my family were literally pushed out of the [even my old parents and wife]. And we stood there and watched in shock that the maharaj of the temple along with his family members was washing the stair cases were we stood. And this happended in 2006.

I am sure this might have happened to many hindus. I think we are to be blamed for such mentality

Akash,

I am very happy this is happening.

This should happen in all temples. Our temples need to be guarded like this.

These are terrible times. Hinduism is under attack mainly from the govt. which is run by this vatican stooge, Queen Sonia.

The priests should be rewarded for this. No one should be trusted. This is the only way of preserving Hinduism and preventing its desecration!!

Akash,

I am not a Jain. I believe that we have taken our religion for granted for a long time. Our cavalier attitude towards our religion is ruining it!

It is time we switched back to the old ways or there won't be a religion for us to call our own!!

You are telling a bullshit story. I and our bengali friends with families have visited Dwarka, btw, I am from Gujarat, many times. We never had any problems, neither did the bengali families. What is this crap that you are talking about?

Thats a lie..I dont believe that.

Small background. The Somnath temple was completely razed to ground 17 times by invadors through out history and it was rebuilt that many times. The last time ie the 18th time it was rebuilt by the iron man of India Sardar Vallabhai Patel himself.

I have been to the Somnath Temple and sure it was very well guarded, courtesy the post Akshardham incedent. We were checked by the police , but it was a police checking and none of that sorts that Akash mentioned.

There fore I dont believe what Akasah said.

Akash: During Janmashami, Veg is a must in a Bengali Brahmin home.

When I say, bings eat mean, it meant its except those days which are religiously significant.
