Sanjay got guns in his house to protect his father Sunil Dutt who was sheltering riot affected Muslims. Sunil Dutt was target of Shiv Saniks ire as they pointed out why Sunil Dutt was helping only Muslims and not Hindus. Probably because Muslims were Sunil Dutt's vote banks and he was taking care of them. Unfortunately for Sanjay he got caught in the web and rest as they say is history. The Dutt family may claim that Sunil Dutt did not know about the guns in his house but it is hard to believe especially when some one like Abu Salem visited their house a few time.Sanjay may not be innocent but it appears his family especially his father did not help his cause.

but then being a MP one shud not have contacts with Terrorists and smugglers..! even to protect himself or family..what sunil dutt did sow is being reaped by his son..!
