I think we should thank the Australian Govt. In India law and order is not so smooth and stright forward as in Aus. True. In India, If police get mistaken in a case like this (of internation attention).. they may just encounter him and close the case.
I donot want to blame any govt. But I feel both the govt. reacted well in time and we should thank for that. In anybody case, it can happen. As there is a mistake from Haneef side too.
So he should feel happy that Aus govt. gave him proper judgement. Sreenath

I also agree with sreenath. Imagine in a similar case in India; the person would have been interrogated using third degree and at the end he would have been shot. I do appreciate aus govt.
