I second you on this. vajpayee is indeed a right politician with the right attitude. But i doubt the congi govt. It is such an oppur party that it will take credit for evrything which is out of its context.

That is for the public consumption. Usually the successor govt does not totally repudiate the stands and agreements made by the previous govt. This is just to pander to their bases and for media consumption that they publicly make different statements. There is always an undercurrent of agreement between parties whether it is Left, Congress or the BJP. Globalization is a classic example. Though congress won the election based on some public protest against reforms, they are continuing the reforms. The BJP, when it was in power, not only pursued the reforms started by congress, but accelerated it. The public display of politics is different from the private agreements these parties have. This is the same thing in the US. The democrats and the republicans make different kind of noise for media/public consumption, but always trade deals when it comes to legislation and administration.
