The Aus govt. is not so naive to blindly investigate a person; there are suspicious circumstances that surround Haneef and hence the interrogation.
Diplomatic pressure has softened their modality, but the investigation continues. Muslim Indians back home are in the process of making a champion out of Haneef... no sweat, just wait still for the findings to become clear.
muslims take this as an oppurtunity to highlight the bias of the Aus govt. which is not entirely right. The perception of the average muslim is that they are hard core in their belief and any views against them would result in violence (that's how muslims respond in their views)... fatwas, jihad and the like.
Not encouraging if you are a muslim... i guess that's the way it is and muslim folks have to accept it. There are exceptions (exceptions are a norm in every category!), but the majority would fit the "average muslim" behaviour.
Also i see a lot of Hindu-muslim arguments and discussions going on... i would like to ask the muslims in this forum... "You speak of Mohammed and Allah and the like - before doing it, are you aware that it is the forceful conversion of your great great grandfathers from Hindus to muslims that you are thus? The balance would be a mixture of 1. muslims marrying Hindu ladies, 2. Rape victims of muslims and 3. muslims who settled here."
