Was APJ Kalam a smart person??
by krishnan js on Jul 27, 2007 08:48 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

SERIOUSLY NOT INTENDED TO HURT ANYONE's sentiments..No doubt he was a great scientist. But do innocent people by default called good or effective.Politics requires statesmanship, astuteness etc much more than interaction with children and powerpoint presentations.I request APJ Kalam to keep this wily reporters at bay and keep his repute intact.

Why dont you have any doubt about his greatness in scientific field? In scientific field, to prove your greatness, you have to publish research papers. How many research papers he has published? You can say that he was in DRDO, and one is not allowed to publish any paper from there. Then to prove his greatness, he has to show the achievements of DRDO during his period. Almost more than 90% of DRDO projects were big failure. India still depends upon other countries for technology and different parts to build missiles, tanks, etc. He is a great scientist, this impression is totally wrong. Rather, I would say that in Kasturirangan's regime, ISRO's performance was really great. Now India can built and launch its own sattelites. Even recently India has launched sattelites of other countries, including US. Kasturirangan's contribution is, I think, much more than Kalam. Hats off Dr Kasturirangan. He is a scientist in every sense : he has valid PhD degree, he publishes many papers, and he contributed immensely in developing India's space program.

His one great quality is that he is a down to earth person. But most importantly, eventhough he is a Muslim, he reads Bhagabat Gita : a definition, set by Hindutva-badi, of Indian Muslim.

without a solid foundation no one can buid a Spectacular castle, Scientist like Dr. Kalam and others were responsible for building that Foundation, You are talking abt Valid Phd degree & research papers, If Phd's and no.of research papers are the parameters, then we would have developed more technologies and wonders in the area of Science and tech than countries like Israel,Sweden etc..,i think it's silly to compare Dr. Kalam and Dr Kasturirangan, each one of them have their own merits, Dr Kasturirangan works on the lessons like how not to.. while developing projects and implementing them. Which was shown by their predecessors like Dr. Kalam and others...
Mr.Jayendra Bandyopadhyay commenting abt others is easy but before that you have to conce.. on basics..

and i don't know what sort of Statesmanship Mr.Krishnan is talking abt? If Pratiba Patil, Sonia, Mr. Baradhan, Mr.Prakash Karat, Mr. Karunanidhi, and people like these are in his statesmanship list, then Dr.Kalam is not a Statesman.

Certainly the jokers (leave the women) you have mentioned are society parasites singing their own praises.I mean honest dynamic responsible proactive leadership where one is active (rather than wait the problem to come to him).Clear?
