Abdul Kalam is trying to hide behind the apron strings of the Home Ministry when he had the power to take an independent decision in the matter of Afzal Guru's clemency petition. He had proven himself to be communal and unfit for a second term as President.
The Home Ministry proved itself no better by putting the clemency petition in cold freeze, no doubt, keeping in mind the Muslim vote bank.
With such kind of elements running this country how can one hope to curb terrorism?
The jawans who died defending the Parliament had proven to be more patriotic than either Abdul Kalam or the Home Ministry. May God bless the souls of those jawans.

Ex President is trying to be innocent.He knew how to delay the matters.After all he had been working in a Govt Deptt. DRDO.By the way Kalam was not that simple .During his 5 years as president,he never played Holi with colours,even symbolic colours,say a teeka or tilak,though in every evening of Holi,children etc got together in President house to show cultural programme etc.Had he played this Hindu festival,Holi,as a token,it would have given a messege to the Muslims and Muslims would have been less fanatics.probably he did not want that to happen to them.But he enjoyed going to jama Masjid for Friday prayers as could be seen in photos published in newspapers.I may be right may be wrong,but he was muslim first than the president.

Hey Ramesh, He is a muslim & hence goes for the mosque.I have seen news of him enjoying diwali.Did Vajpayee ever go to Mosque ?,Did Advani ever go to mosque,apart from the thoughts of breaking that? Dont give foolish comments.
