Too much democracy
by Raja Bhattacharya on Jul 28, 2007 09:09 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hey people - please LET A GOOD THING HAPPEN, and don't stand in the way! The problem with India is that we have too much democracy. Even ignorant jerks can voice their opinions and stop the pace of progress. And the less said about the Left parties the better. That's why nothing good gets done in this country. The U.S. bent backwards to give India this unique honor in the world, but our so-called great scientists and technocrats, some of who cannot fix a bulb in the holder, will keep barking! Ask these so-called scientists why they send their sons and marry off their daughters in the U.S.! Ask them why they obtained their degrees in the U.S., and not Russia. Such double standards, hypocrisy and ingorance!

surrendering energy security, national security and foreign policy is not a good thing.

With out this deal we make take 5 to 10 years more to get to same growth level which this deal is supposedly bring to india.

Shame on you get your facts stright. Dr. A.N. Prasad is a very renowned scientist, former BARC director. He has worked all his life in reprocessing technology from building INDIA's first reprocessing plant in 1960's even before we had our first reactor. He has gunine points. If the deal is good as the government says it is, we all will be very happy including Dr. Prasad.

Government should come clean by releasing complete text of the deal to public.

can you ask your sweety and cheater Sonia to instruct Manmohan for releasing the actual draft for public view. They are hiding all information, as Sonia wants this to happen, as she had got crores of dollers from america.

And Manmohan does not speak even a word without her instruction, thus at least ask sonia to instruct this puppet.

You are simply a jerk and stupid. This is not a unique honor for India in the world. People like you are always in illusion about the right place for India in World. This deal is a double edge sword for USA. One side will ensure that smooth and cheap supply of petrolium for USA's domestic market and enegize a dormant civil nuclear industry in USA. Other side will allow USA and its allies access to India's strategic programme thus allow them to control it at their convenience. Grow up and try to understand the real consequence of such deal.

AS

The civil nuclear industry in USA is dormant? That's a joke - where do you live man, in some Bihar village or something? Atleast get your facts right! The US civnuke industry is a kick-ass thriving robust industry, from whom we are now set to benefit. See people, this is what I meant when I said any jerk can write anything without checking facts. Mr. AS is an example.

Mr Raja,

1. You harp on "cold war thinking". I havent seen anybody say "do a deal with Russia". all they are saying is don't compromise on the long term.
2. You call others "ignorant jerks". I assume you are an authority on nuclear technology, Indo-US dynamics, US strategic interests and US civnuke industry. Please enlighten us ignorant jerks about your credentials and achievements.
3. Your reference to "so called scientists who cannot fix a bulb" was interesting. When these "so called, unable to fix a bulb" scientists can make India into a defacto nuke power, I am amazed at what all can an authority on everything under the sun like you can achieve. Man, don't hold back, not now at least. Just show these ignorant jerks.
4. Bihar is so disgusting naa. Now, didn't I say you are one of those emancipated souls who by some cruel joke did happen to be born in India. Such emancipated thinking, such broad outlook, such rationalism - man you definitely belong in the US. India is such a stinking waste of time.
4. So did you finally get your greencard.

good attempt at display of wit, ms. yadav - i can already hear all the biharis and armchair patriots clapping - i dont want to get into a war of words with you on the nuclear deal - i can bypass you in my knowledge of the deal, as well as sarcasm, but its really not worth my time - all i can say is that those people in singh's and bush's teams who are burning the midnight oil in building bridges between our two great nations are much more erudite than you or me - they, not you or me, will leave behind their marks on the sands of time - so let them do your work, and go do some grassroots work for bihar, if you feel so strongly about it - leave the nuke deal to the pm and the prez - as for the green card, it looks like a case of sour grapes - you sound like you applied and never got it!

Dude you keep arguing with out facts. Basically you have no argument on techinical ground so you are bringing all kinds of issues instead of discussing points raised by Dr. A.N. Prasad.

US did not build or get approval for new reactor design for electricty generation in 30 years.

Your above statement shows your knowledege about world nuclear industry.

Just to let you know US is a lagard in reprocessing technology. They are even behind INDIA in reprocessing technology.

don't you dude me, mister - if you have the ammunition to support dr. a.n. prasad, please go and put them forth to india's nuclear guru anil kakodkar who just cleared the agreement - he should know more than all of us here.

I say the same to you. If you have ammunition againest Dr.A.N.Prasad, supporting Kakodkar bring it on in terms of techinical points. You keep bashing Dr. A.N. Prasad for raising genuine concerns. With out any techinical points to support your argument you cannot side with kakodkar who is clearly sidelined in the talks and pressurized to accept a compromize.

Dr. A.N.Prasad who is one of the father figures for indian reprocessing techonology. With out A.N. Prasad's contributions there whould have been no fast breeders and kakodkar's dream project AHWR and nuclear weapons and last but not the least no nuclear deal to disuss.

Let kakodkar/Narayanan answer all the questions raised by experts and parlimenterians in the parliment. I don't say members of all members of parliment are worried about national interests/security (I beleive Sonia and MMS are also not worried about national interests) but, atleast it will be transperant for all indians citizens to see and make up their mind.

Why is this secreacy and selective leaks unless you have something to hide? Clearly american intrepetation is different from what the we are intepreting [http://washingtontimes.com/article/20070727/FOREIGN/107270097/1001]. This will cause more problems in future.

Government should make text of the 123 document avaliable to all experts and important law makers.

Dr.A.N.Prasad is completely impartial because he is retired and has no expectations for himself from government.

Seems you are real stupid to favor Manmohan and your sweety Sonia. We do have lot of thorium ores and should explore nuclear energy from this source not from american fuel. It is a real sad situation to see our government bowing under American pressure.

It is only because of too much democracy, people like you are ruling and shouting in the favor of the dirtiest agreement, we are going to have after independence.
