India has already reaped the benefit of its enhanced status in the west. India got everything it wanted without giving anything away. India did not budge on a single thing %u2013 it can reprocess, can have weapons program, is not subject to any inspection of weapons facilities and can even test new devices. India has become a de facto superpower.
The country owes tons of gratitude to Dr. Singh. We are really fortunate to have him as our PM. He charmed President Bush and convinced him that India is its most important t strategic partner the west can have. West needs India%u2019s brain. It shares same values. This whole thing is the recognition that along with Japan, India will be considered just like a developed western country despite belonging to Asia.
With current 9% growth rate, India%u2019s GDP will double every eight years. This has been possible because of Dr. Singh and his pro-growth, pro-western policy.
