Kalam's message to parliamentarians
by Krishna Padmanabhan on Jul 24, 2007 03:23 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Dr. Kalam, your words are in vain. Many of our parliamentarians are in the process of a slow developmental cycle, and are probabaly too young in their development to understand words like Vision2000 and Energy Independence. Look at the pathetic situation, when a departing President in 2007, has to exhort our parliamentarians to prepare a Vision2000. That is one more item in my beloved country that is way behind schedule!! Our Parliamentarians are good to talk only about Reservation 2000 - for several castes, communities, in the private sector etc.

I wish you all the very best in your post-presidential life. You are a man of many ideas, however, if there is one cause that, in my opinion, will be well served by your epousing it, is to fight for the pre-eminence of merit in Indian enterprise. India is known abroad today for the skills of its scientists, engineers, its artists and its authors. Reservation does not help in making India a great nation, in fact it will ultimately lead to the demise of individual enterprise. Help us fight this malaise, - we definitely know you can - if you will!!
