al-Hajar-ul-Aswad

Friends,
Can anyone tell what is oval black stone in mecca which is called al-Hajar-ul-Aswad.
It looks like a Shiv-ling..If so then why are there advts. in Urdu papers in Kashmir calling ling praying Hindus to leave Kashmir.

May be those people have not done Haj yet.

I think Mr. Hanuman Peter who may not have been to Mecca yet..Well go there and u will know what u r praying since centuries..
