GOVERNMENT OF MUMBAI
by UmaShankar SathyaKumar on Jul 18, 2007 11:30 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

There are so many buildings in Mumbai, which are VERY VERY UNSAFE even dogs to LIVE. Yet, thousands and thousands of INDIAN HUMANS live in them knowing that one day some thing like this eventually will happen.

On the other side, there are people who spend 60-70 lacs to buy luxury apartments.

This is one of the biggest achievement of Independent INDIA...

How many of us domate money or do something to the poor????

Uma,

What will donating money get them?

Their donation will be misused by the foundation's or charity's board members for personal needs.

Mumbai's infrastructure is very unstable and out-dated.

All the civic construction work such as flyovers and bridges are being built to meet 5 to 10 year old needs.

Mumbai's drainage system is very old more than 100 years old and on the verge of collapse.

It can neither be repaired or upgraded (either option would need digging up most of the city)!

But people keep flocking to live and earn in sub-human conditions in this city.

No matter what the spin and the marketing pitch, Mumbai is a lost cause.

People who choose to live in Mumbai are inherent risk takers. It is a city that they belong in.

But for how long? Only time will tell!!
