DISTURBING!

1.Kafeel's involvement throws logic to the wind! So far, it is widely believed that at least one of the 3 conditions to be met to become a terrorist and more so a suicide bomber
A. Poverty-as it happens in the NWFP and Afghanistan
B. Personal loss-one of his family members being the being subject to suffering due to religious discrimination
C. Being in the thick of action, like in Afghanistan, Iraq etc so that every minute of life is being reminded of suffering

In Kafeel's case not any one of them exist. He is
A. financially well off,
B. None of his family or friends suffered any religious discrimination
C. He was born and raised in the salubrious environs of Bangalore in SOuthern India far far away from the places of fighting going on
D. He is very bright in academics and has every reason to be a successful doctor and has no known deprivations like solitude, mental breakdown, broken hearts in a love affair.
E. He also knows that his involvement will surely bring hardship on his family members and friends

Then why he possibly have done what he did? Some psychologists can throw some answers, possibly!

This makes Police's job that much more difficult. If people with these backgrounds, -not impoverished, not personally deprived, no known criminal links till that date-, can be terrorists, on whom will police keep tabs on with such limited resources?

One should come up with a good theory.

These three conditions that you are talking about is applicable only for criminals not for islamic terrorists.I guess you are also pretty much educated and from a well-to-do family and it must be pretty much easy for you to understand that muslims are more prone to becoming a terrorists coz from the religious point of view they are more conservative and dont like changes and take things as they were before hundred years ago. They just dont like be questioned at all about their religion.

afghanistan and iraq happened in retaliation for 9/11.what reason did the 9/11 bombers have for their actions?
my point is,islamic laeders blame afghanistan and iraq for all the terrorism today, but conveniently forget that both these factors didnt exist when 9/11 happened.

Sorry, he is not a doctor, but a bright engineer (what difference it makes, anyway!) albeit with devious bent of mind!

Yaar kabir. The problem is religion can be intoxicating if taken too seriously and this is what happened in kafeel's case.

Try to understand, pl.
A malayali Muslim and a malayali hindu have more in common and a Punjabi hindu in India and a Punjabi muslim in Pakistan have more in common than a malayali muslim and a punjabi muslim. Likewise, a punjabi hindu and a malayali muslim have hardly anything in common, except feeling of nationhood

To prescribe the right medicine one should diagnose the disease accurately!

We may believe, what we like to believe, but that doesn't give results

Kabeer,

The problem is idealogical thinking that people of his community are being persecuted.
