Don't pull Nehru's personal life here. His personal life is something which he & his family needs to worry. I had the same feeling when people were telling Mr.Vajpayee drinks too much..That's his personal problem...See what they did for the nation.

Mr Gopalan,
Y not??. A personal life of a public figure is always debatable. If Mr. Vajpayee drinks too much, it is harmful for his health. But what Nehru, the so called ideal person did is a shame.

there is no shame in having a affair ... it is all in your socially backward mindset and parochial thinking.

Remember, only you can change your attitude.

I dont agree you can totally afford to neglect his personl life. I mean, Common, this man is next only to Gandhi. He was the PM for 14 years. He is a model for Children who I remember as I was taught when I was a kid, CHAHCA NEHRU. Look what Chacha Nehru did in his past time.!! When you are a leader of this stature, you have to get everything right.

Nehru and Gandhi have destroyed the country.
The naked fakir should have chosen patel and
today there would have been no pakistan or
bangladesh.
Now we have an italian running our country. I sometimes think what is wrong with India?

You r absolutely right Mr. Sameer.
Had Mr. Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man, been our first PM, the destiny of our country would have been different. Probably India would have dictated terms to US

Patel would have ruined the country.

Of course a lot can be said by Nehru haters that Patel would have done this or that or prevented this from happening - like they can ever prove what they say, as if they can change the history and put Patel as PM.

Had Patel been there, India could have been better or it could have been worse. No one knows

That is nothing but RSS spread rumors. RSS got Mahatama killed and they didn't stop there. They are continuing to poison the nation with their venom of hate.

I don't think there is any problem in that. firstly it is personel life of Mr. Nehru. although he was so important and famous person still we should have respect for his personal life and not discuss this.
and my friend what if he was PM still he was a human being. we should respect one's personal life.

H S, I to agree that it is a part of his personal life. But the person so revered as a great leader and been at the helm of the nation, should have had high morality

Morals are often imposed by society. Nehruji did not misappropriate public money or squandered it on buying gifts for Edwina.

The guy had a crush on her, afterall he was a widower and so not that he wasn't faithful to his wife or anything. If Edwina crossed the proverbial "lakshman rekha" while being married, that's her problem, not Nehruji's
