Is it really stress or something else?
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jul 03, 2007 10:56 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Everybody in today's world is under stress. But army personnels are strong hearted. They are strong enough to cope with the stress. They obviously don't commit suicide out of stress related problems. There must be something else and a deep probe into the case is necessary. A soldier dying to enemy's bullet is acceptable and will be honoured for his martyrdom but a soldier dying to his own bullets is totally unacceptable since it sends wrong signals.

yes, sameer..i totally agree with this point... unless we investigate in to the root problem and solve the issue, it is a signal of danger to the Nation

You say "They obviously don't commit suicide out of stress related problems."

How is it obvious? And who is taking care of their stress? Just because it sends wrong signals, you think it is not necessary to check if they are stressed

Priya... stress is inevitable in Military and particularly when posted in vurnerable areas/borders. These jawans are ably trained to overcome stress related problems to some extent...but if the suicides are the cause of some other problems, then it is very serious to the military and the nation..
