If true, this is a totally unacceptable behaviour from army people. Since in any issue two sides are involved it becomes imperative to anlyze the issue objectively;
if the police arrested them inspite of knowing they were army personnel then they did a poor job;
but, regardless of what police did, army men vandalizing a police station and freeing their friends is a criminal affair and it must not go unpunished.
The whole law that gives immunity for military personnel itself should be questioned.
This is like giving incentive for bad behaviour. It is like saying be in the military and you wont be prosecuted by local police for your incursions.
I am sure there may be different protocols enacted for these type of things; but, in a country like India when we read about things like these it makes me wonder which direction we are going as a country!.
