I am a Indian tamil from sri lanka whose parents were brought back during Shastry's time. I still have relatives in Sri Lanka and they are always targeted for being Tamil. In India, i have all the freedom to what i want and to become whatever I want. I know most of you don't like us Tamils from Sri Lanka but we are still grateful for allowing some of our brethrens to live in this country as refugees. Are these people crossing over to Pakistan so stupid, that they cannot see the opportunities in India?

no body hates tamils or srilankan tamils. this perceived notion I have noticed during my chennai stay. a north indian cannot appreciate the real issues not to talk that he will hate srilankan tamils. indian tamils, i dont know might have miniscule hate towards srilankan tamils but not sure.

srilankas have a plan to kill all the 15-45yr old tamil males. every day some tamilian goes missing. LTTE went against India when someone in the indian army tried to play double game and hand over LTTE top personalities [kittu and others] who killed thmesleves when arrested by indian army. LTTE was never against Late Rajiv Gandhi, Rajiv wanted the Truth, but some vested interests never let him found that. May His Soul rest in Peace.

rani, iam a indian tamil .both indian and sri lankan tamils are blood related .no body hates lankan tamils .we feel sorry for the ongoing war in lanka .hadn't the LTTE backstabbed us by assainating rajiv gandhi we would have helped u in a much better way .... india gives freedom and life to every body without discrimation as long as they dont become anti nationals ...enjoy india

I really do wish we could form a greater Hindu country. I also wish India could help preserve old temples in SL. There is a famous and old Shiva temple in the East on top of a mountain. It is now cordened off and is surrounded by an army garrison. I kind of understand their reasoning to put a garrison there as the LTTE will not fire towards the temple, but i feel converting a temple to an army fort shows the lack of respect to Hindu temples.

If you ask me, 90% of the times, Congress foreign policy was mess (still is, but for the good ground work done by BJP/NDA earlier).
I think only sensible thing Congress did was to cultivate such a good relationship with Russia which is, I think, the most dependable friend of India in international arena.
Otherwise, Congress had just succeeded in making India disappear from Radar of the world. From being labelled a "crown jewel" in times of Raj, world totally forgot India after independence. It was only when BJP/NDA did Pokhran II did the world woke up and now see where India is.
Just 5 years to undo the mess Congress had created. BJP/NDA made their mistakes too, but then Bush too has Iraq as his biggest mess ever :-) Nobody's perfect.

Exactly. I am from India and i feel what rajiv gandhi did was a mistake too. He was about to be assasinated by a srilankan soldier in a parade. Rajiv was saved only by his reflex that day. Srilankan military didnt even try him. They said he is a mental patient. But now that guy has been promoted to a senior officer. What would have happened if Rajiv was assasinated that day?. i am just trying to say that LTTE is not the only outfit trying to kill Rajiv. Even Lankans want him to be killed but LTTE alone is blamed now.

I am sri lankan tamil too. Does this mean, we are left to die by bombing and abduction from our own government. You know what, if India was ever attacked, you can even count on the LTTE to help you. We might not like you for what you did to our women and children, but we will still help you.

Why is it that many Indians "hate" the ambitions of LTTE but not of the ambitions of the SL Government. SL Government doesnot want to have a plural society. LTTE is a reaction. Remember it was the SLG who armed LTTE to fight India. This (hatred) is something I have never understood.
Besides, because of this hatred, lots of Tamils are suffering at the hands of the SL Government. Everyday, there is a disappearance. Even last month, one of my mother's distance friend's grandson disappeared in High security zone of the army so we know it is the army who did this. He is not even Jaffna Tamil. My heart still bleeds for those people there, not because they are Tamil but because they are human who are continuously killed by their government.

Thats the problem... the world is not sure what the problem between you two (only two) communities in SL is!! I heard that LTTE wants a separate country in the northern part... if this is true, then LTTE is on the wrong side...if its not true then let me and the world know whats right..
