Auranghazeb was a true divine man who followed his religion sincerely. The Rajputs were dominantly holding all supreme posts during the period of Akbar and Shahjahan. Rememeber, Akbar had 100 Rajput wives and the Rajputs reaped lot of benefits during this period. Jizya tax was reimposed on the Rajputs by Aurangazeb and they were treated as common people. This revoked Hindu rebellions against Aurangazeb. This was a political issue and not a religious issue. Islam has to be followed based on the teachings of the Glorious Quran. Priciples of Sufism is against Islam and the Quran. As a true muslim Aurangazeb stopped this practise and he did not want the followers of Islam to be deviated. Auranghazeb can be named as a tyrant, but he was a good ruler. He was not like his predecessors who spent all their time in dancing with women, and drinking. The historians who could not benefit during Auranghazeb's span, raise the hatred against Auranghazeb on religious grounds. Soldiers die in wars, if many soldiers died in the Mughal side, the same would have been on the Maratha's side. Then why shivaji is a Hero and Auranghazeb is portrayed as a villain. Political reasons promoted many rebellions, including the Sikh Gurus against the Emperor. Wars against a rule has killed many people, but only in the case of Auranghazeb it is portrayed as a Sin. Emperor Akbar the Hero of Indian history and Hindu culture has also waged many wars against many small Hindu kings and annexed their Kingdoms. West
