dear shweta,

the threat will not disappear if we bury our heads ostrich like in the ground. its good that there's a debate. either we'll get convinced that islam is a religion of peace or we'll be aware of the danger lurking in our own back yards. i don't hate muslims too. i don't want any retribution for what aurangzeb did to our country. but the question is: are muslims obliged to hate all of us "kafirs"?

Muslims are the part of India, no need to proclaim that they love India as much their co-citizens do. Overwhelming majority believe in the peaceful co-existance. I would like to share the excerpts from the interview of Israeli Deputy Prime Minister aired on BBC, referring to Palestinians he said," Let's forget the past and the history, let's see present and join to build bright, more secured and peaceful future where ther should be respect for each other"
Similarly, we must realize the need of a better future, which can only be built by including every citizen of our great nation. Let's educate the people who believe in violence that a better and a secured future lies in the peaceful means only. Let's be more responsible and more reasonable.

Dear Shweta, Mohammad, Qasim, Ibrahim, etc.
What do you say about the dresses in Islamic countries. While men are allowed to wear white robes, women are made to wear black burqas in such sweltering heat. Either Islam does not know about science or it does not believe in equality. That is why I feel the Dawood Bohras are more progressive, atleast they are open to reforms, unlike other muslims.

there are hundreds of instances where followers of every religion have done excesses, there is no need to remind about the truth what we have been doing to "Dalits" and many more found in our scriptures. But what do we want to tell the people. If we comment on sensitive issues such as religion we must think a thousand times as unnecessary abusive languages against each other would serve no purpose except more hatred, more skepticism and more intolerance for each other. Rediff is certainly doing no good to give a place for such articles. Ay sort of comments regarding religion should find no place in the modern world, or else there would be nothing but chaos all around. In the broader interest of nation and the world, it is very essential to discourage such articles.

Shweta! I am not sure this is your real name. Knowing the history is not hatred.

The fact is that Islam teaches and spreads terrorism. Unless we know this basic fact, there will not be peace in this world.

I do not think, you will appreciate this, till it affects you and your family personally.

It's very offending and irresponsible to use such language. By commenting like this what do we exactly want to say?? there are many instances where the concerned parties are not the followers of Islam, take the example of LTTE, naxalites, maoists, IRA, upper caste against lower castes, protestants against catholics and vice versa, christians against jews, hutu against tutsi and innumerable others.
Indeed, there is an urgent need to educate people that there is nothing in violence, only peace can lead to a better future. We need to be more responsible carrying out our duties. Such comments would serve no purpose except more hatred. Let's join hand, irrespective of our faiths and beliefs, to build a better, prosperous and peaceful world.
