Let us read a History of INDIA, and not teach our children the history of Delhi and surrounding areas. When I teach my sons history for the CBSE course, I was stunned to see that the entire south was covered in 2/3 chapters, not much on the east till the British came to Oudh, and in the west, we read the history of the Marathas only with the coming of Shivaji. It should be more accurate now.
Not just CBSE...read through Nehru's Discover of India and see how much of South India has he discovered...3 or 4 kings maximum. South Indian history (if you include the Sangam History) is the oldest record ever existing.

that is because south india history never extended beyond tamil nadu, karnataka and kerala...at least the satvahana of AP were able to resist the mourya empire..you do know the maurya and gupta empires define India...they had the biggest libraries in taxila and nalanda....the fact south indian kings never really defeated india and thats precisely the reason they are never mentioned......
