Aurangzeb's image
by Ashok on Feb 16, 2007 02:35 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Going thro most of the messages here, I wonder if they are ALL missing the point. Francois Gautier is trying to establish that Aurangzeb was a tyrant and destroyed many hindu holy places. One may or may not agree with his views, but how is the matter tied with present day hindu-muslim relations?
I am a hindu but firmly that the nation cannot progress by hating muslims for what some ruler is supposed to have done 3/4 centuries ago. Indian Muslims are our brothers and it could happen that emotionally they feel attached to a particular in the past. But today, they are very much part of India and their contribution to nation building is indispensable.
Let us not pretend that all hindu rulers of the past were saints. There are good rulers and bad rulers and this has nothing to do with Hindu/Muslim. Let us forget the hate game, let bygones be bygones and get on with the task of nation-building

Appreciate your attitude Ashok.

If everyone feels the same way (Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs & others), our country would prosper and everyone will be enriched. There is no point in discussing PAST issues and rake up new issues in the PRESENT.

There can only be a GOOD person or a BAD person. But no religion or community is bad. We all should realise that and live in brotherhood.

Best wishes to all.

Dear Ashok,

Do you think today's Sikh and Catholic rulers of India are good for Hindus? The way they are going around saying "Muslims will have first right to resources?" Isnt History repeating itself? Please dont live in a fool's paradise

If islam had such spirit of accepting other religious rights then it would have been another story. But, Islam has no tolerance towards other religion and we need to eliminate the false religion from India. Its imporatnt we eliminate both chritians and Islam from India for sake of Indian progress.
