It's better to preach the truth given by religions and saints to all of our citizens including politicians. Religion is man made where as spirituality is God made. Please do not mix up spirituality and religion / religion and politics. Supreme soul (PARAM ATHMA) will never forgive us if we misuse HIM for our narrow gains.

please first be clear that the sikh religion was founded by guru govind sing ot save hindus from the onslaught by then muslim ruler aurangzeb who was responcible for the beheading of shri guru tegbahadur the father of guru gobind singh.that time one member of hindu family was turned into or converted to sikhism.pl dont destroy this integral relationship by such narrowminded views.think in a broadway.sat sri akal.

I feel pity for ignorant ppl like you. Sikhism is not like Hinduism that we differentiate between Guru Nanak ji ..and Guru Gobind Singh ji.........Sikhism beleives that all 10 gurus were same spirit....just 10 diff bodies U try to impose hindu thinking on SIkhs as well.....like i m Ram bhagat, i m Krishna Bhagat, I am Hanuman Bhagat Sikhs r not like this............Watever GuruGobind SIngh said and did....was not opposed to Guru Nanak Dev ji.. ....whosoever will beleive in Guru Nanak Dev ji will be having belief in Guru Gobind Singh ji as well and vice versa..
So Sikhism was started by Guru Nanak Dev ji only.....and guru gobind singh ji just completed the process of formation of the pious religion.
So never insult ideology of Guru Nanak Dev ji by saying him Hindu bcoz he only opposed all the Hindu rituals(if u know history).

Please have some respect when speaking of Gurus, be it of any religion. They were not ordinary peopele to be spoken of using words like begging. We can't even think in our dreams of achieving even 1% of what they did.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji was not begging (FYKI) first of all and what he did was not for his own sake or his family (infact he sacrificed each and every member of his family for the sake of upholding the principles of Sikhism and fighting for injustice and I don't think there is any other instance in the history to parallel it). He was creating a the nucleus of a casteless society and teaching ordinary people how to be brave and strong willed and live a spititual life with self respect and not like slaves to the muslim ruler of that time, Aurangzeb.
Ofcourse Guru Nanak Devji started the Sikh religion. A lot of people like you get confused in this. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the last living Guru of Sikhs and gave the final form to Sikh religion in terms of its own identity. It's philosophy is much more deep rooted which was started by Guru Nanak Dev ji and carried on by the nine living Gurujis there after and is present now in the shape of the 11th Guru, Guru Granth Sahib ji.
On the Baisakhi day of 30 March 1699 Guru Gobind Singh Ji formed the Panj Pyaare (literally the five beloved ones) from Bhai Daya Ram (a Khatri from Lahore), Bhai Dharam Das (from Hastinapur), Bhai Himmat Rai (a water carrier from Jagan-Nath Puri, Orissa), Bhai Mohkam Rai (a printer from Dwarka Gujrat) and Bhai Sahib Chand (a barber born in Bidar, Karnataka) as the nucleus of the Khalsa (the pure one - like Khalis as in pure) adding Singhs and Kaurs (for ladies) to their names. He thus removed the barriers of caste, region, status and anyother which existed and united them as one. He then got himself baptised by taking amrit from the panj pyaare and called him self Gobind Singh...before that his name was Gobind Rai.
The attire he gave too was not without reason. When Guru Teg Bahadur ji was killed by Aurangzeb, there was no one who even dared to come forward and take his body away and perform the last rites. Then Bhai Jaita ji came forward and took Gurujis body and placed it in his own house and burned it to preform the last rites. Gurudwara Sis Ganj in Chandni Chown, Delhi is where Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was sacrificed. On learning this Guru Gobind Rai ji said that I will create such a race and give it such an attire that they will be identified in millions and will not be able to hide even if they want to. To make them strong willed and teach them to live with self respect, he created the Khalsa and called then Singhs (the Lions) and the girls Kaurs (Princesses).
