Killing of a Sub-Inspector at Nandigram
by Shridhar Iyer on Feb 09, 2007 02:45 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Coming after Singur trouble, it appears that Industries can not be started in West Bengal due to one reason or the other.

Govt has the right to acquire land, in the interest of the State/Nation, by compensating the owners of the properties to be acquired. If the price is not adequate, they can always seek the help of Courts.

Killing of a Sub-Inspector, who has come to the place to discharge his duty, is very unfortunate. Wonder the people have taken the law into their hands!.

The Govt should strictly administer law and order, and do not allow any associations or groups of people to take law into their hands.

Singur, Nandigram, and other such incidents should have sent strong signals to the people who might have thought about investing in the State, and they must have decided by now, as to whether to proceed further or not.

With best wishes,

V.Srinivasan.

Thank you very much for this type of writing in the Web. I fully agree with you which is going on in Singur and Nandigram. It is not a good signal from our State to the Investors who are shown interest to invest in the State. State Government as well as political parties irrespective of their will do not encourage this type of mischeivous consequences.
