Mr. Shashi tharoor is a shining star and his services can be utilised any where and he will prove to be role model for younger generations. It is obvious that he can not into moon's hierarchy. He doesn't need moon but It is moon which need him (shining star) if he really recognizes his ability.

True i guess UN is just a bunch of people who decide and discuss on how to rule third world countries .. where was UN when US attacked Iraq .. doesnt it has right to stop US .. its a US puppet organisation its owned by USA. USA never listen to UN and when UN decides to use somthing against US it vetoes it.. I dont care a thing about what UN dos.. now when Iran is making nuclearwhy UN is opposing doesnt a country has right to make weapon and defend it self ... wat israel is doing is right i guess coz UN never opposes and if it does US is there to support israel .. so I THINK UN ISHOULD BE SCRAPPED

Rashmiji- It isz not the question of Hindus or Muslims. I get very disappointed with Indian minds when relatively educated folks like you always prey on communalism. I think it is high time we begin to look at the world beyond just a Hindu-Muslim or Muslim-West conflict. What about Humanity, for God's sake. Come on , wake up and smell the coffee. The world is changin very fast, and don't harp on things that gets you nowhere, instead offer suggestions.

Dear Faiz Jaffiri,
You might be a messiah who talks of Humanism from your group. The world is changing but narrowing down very fastly. Just explain me what the violence in Banglore has to do with something happens else where. I will tell things have to change and will change in India atleast the people started speaking. Just remind yourselves what are the sermons made in Friday afternoons are they not anti-national I will bet 95% of them are antinationa. You and others harp the song of pseudo secularity for propagation and some of the majority communities do it for sake of popularity, drama and garner votes. we all know this.

Good point, Surya. I might be the messiah from my group. But you know what ? You will find a small group of people from every community who have made their objective in life to invoke anti-nationalistic, or anti-minority or anti-whatever that provokes riots, anger and what not. I have personally been a victim on several occassions, but does that mean I start writing columns on how bad Hindus are treating Muslims in India ?? Of course not, cuz I know they are a small number who are mostly un-educated, not widely traveled, not schooled properly, came from a communal background, etc etc. This happens in every culture, city, state and country of the world.
The point I am trying to make here is that anyone who is browsing REDIFF.com and reading up on Shahshi Tharoor's resignation is ought to be , well.. educated, smart, open-minded, Indian and possess balanced-opinion. So when I read comments made on Hindu-Muslim trust, and Taliban, etc, it saddens me cuz then I picture INDIA going to the dumps.
I would strongly suggest you read up "The World is Flat" and you will know what the whole world thinks about INDIA today, and they will continue to think that way, unless we start hearing comments by people like Prabhudas & Rashmi earlier on.

I rest my case. As long as we have mind-set of people just like yourself, We are never going to get anywhere. Look at the difference between my comment and yours. I never brought up the subject of where Hindus stand or what have they doen to the minority community cuz I know that this is not the platform to bring up these issues, therefore let's look above and beyond what Muslims think about Taliban or like you say,"Mullah Omar etc". But you, my friend, very quickly put all the blame on Muslims.
For once, please take a leaf out of Western culture on what is "politically correct" and how to approach burning issues without blaming one faction over other. At this rate, we INDIANS are never gonna get anywhere. I was born and brought up in INDIA, proud to be INDIAN and have never felt any prejudiced against any class, sect or religion only because I am way too open-minded.
Come on guys, lets grow out of this Hindu-Muslim thing, don't you get it ?? The politicians are using people just like you to get your vote in their vote bank. Trust me.

Hindu Community openly opposed any Communal Voilence perpretrated by Hindus, eg. Gujarat. What about muslims, how many of you can openly take a stand against Osama Bill Laden and Mullah Omar ? Isn't it Hypocracy ? We understand your helplessness!

YES UN SHOULD BE SCRAPPED! It is a waste of time and resources. It reflects post ww2 world order not todays reality. I am not sure that countries in security council with veto power will ever allow any change to add anyone else. So I say as far as India is concerned, keep the nukes upto date, withdraw from or just ignore the UN.
