What self respect boost you get in case, we
make Fighter Jet, still we need to buy advanced
Radar from USA.
Can you make everything on your own.
Can you make a needle on your own?
Are you still living in forest.

Most other contries except the communists of course do it wiht private industries where the best are attracted and motivated with money. Communists used their propaganda to create passion and/or put their scientists and families at gun points and made happen all during cold war. I am not sure if china has yet changed thosepractices.

To create such great products we need a very passionate or desperate organization. We have neither. We have regular government employees trying to do the same with their puny resources. People like Pres Abdul Kalam are few and far between and those have been the saving grace for what India has demonstrated for self reilance today.

Our nation has not dared to used its military in the past 30 years for the right purpose even when it is called for. All the military might without proper diplomatic backup is of little use. So what we have is good enough. Nukes, missiles, imported plans, home made sats., imported radars are the deterents that our policy makers seem to be happy with, so we hav.

I agree to ur discontent but thats due to the fact that your view on this regard is limited, United states, Russia, UK, France have been a dominant in the field of technology as they had a sound economy henceforth they invested in research and made these machines so as the devloping countries can buy them, Indian universities do not have much research funding tell me how many Indian students are working in research funding but things are changing now India is asking foriegn companies to transfer the technology and the main component of the fighter aircraft is the engine (turbine) there are only few names as GE, Rollys Royce, Pratney,Solar etc and this is the heart of the aircraft India can easily fabricate the aircraft with the best electronics but the fine engineering of turbine manufacture has to be mastered and this will take time and 60 years after Independence we are only now emerging as a force to reckon with along with other nations(BRIC) Brazil, Russia, India and China even china depends on russia for these engines so dont please play the blame game, the journey of 1000miles start with a single step and India has walked quiet a few steps in this direction and one day hum honge kamyab, so keep the hope my fellow Indian.

Please do something for poor. have you ever donated to orphanage or CRY or any social service organization. One should start with him self first before blaming entire country.
I admire your feel for country but i would also like to know what have you contributed for the same (like for eradiction of hunger) , even in smallest possible way. if we can not do for our country then no body else would do.

Hey, Its not the question of self respect. Here you are missing a point. Dont ever dare to think that Russian planes are useless. They are far more superior than any fighter jets in the world. They dominated US f15, f16 and f18's by 90% in recent joint exercises by India and US. Even a Mig 21 beat US F16 and French Mirage fighter jets. better check the news. Its a pleasure for us that India is buying such quality fighter jets. And making our own fighter jets takes a long time to go and by the time we are to that speed, those will be replace by other world class fighter jets, so better to take it one step at a time and at the same time play safe.
