This is really idiotic. We are really missing the big picture. We keep on fighting of water but don't think of anything else.

Why don't we stop for a moment and think about this. What would happen if rain fails and no water in cauvery? What will happen then?? Why dont we think of alternate solution for water? There is no river in Middle East still they are so self sufficient in water !! Why cant we just do that?? We have a big coast line and all we have to do is desalinate water. Convert salt water to drinking water. Can't our govt invest on that??? We shld be thinking on these lines instead of fighting among ourselves..

THis has become a big politics issue now..

U have a good point but desalinating water for irrigation purpose is a costly affair. However, it can be adopted for drinking water purpose to coastal and near coastal cities. In addition recycled water from domestic wastes in big cities like chennai, bangalore can be used for agricultre purpose. Now India has paddy varieties which grow in very less water (Drought Resistant, unlike the usual one) needs to be popularized. Farmers need to be informed about the novel varieties of crops by the Governamnets which are exhisting in the market. Finally it is mainly and more of a political issue than the water issue between the farmers of two states. If given a chance, I am dammn sure that the farmers of both states can easily and ambicably solve the kaveri water problem forever.

Hi there,

I really don't understand why people fight for natural resources like water... we being Indians we must be united, not quarrel among ourselves for pitty things like this... We all know both states are in need of Cauvery water, let them discuss and share it in a way where noone runs short of water... A river flowing in it's own path... I don't think anybody should have problems on this...

Come on everyone... It's high time you realize...

Thanks.
