It is very dificult to find solutions to water disputes.

1.Limited water and too many users in southern India.
2.Lots and lots of water below the himalayas gets flooded and wasted towards the ocean.
3.Tamil nadu lacks water resources in its territory and depends on other states.
4.If we go by the river origin logic Cauvery originally belongs to the people of coorg(Kodagu).I did see some news articles that Kodagu wants a seperate statehood. If this state hood is achieved then Karnataka faces a similar situation as faced by TN.
5. States at a higher altitude are always at advantage and can bully the lower altitude regions. To control this scenario tribunal was setup.

If Karnataka does not accept the tribunal award then it is a ever green problem and a never ending story. There cannot be solution for this. The current central government is dominated by ministers from Tamil Nadu.

Nonsense!! Please understand that Cauvery here also includes Kabini,Hemavathy,Arkavathy,etc..a total of 10 rivers. Also the fact that entire south Karnataka depends on it.Please go thru facts and also the assessors copy plus the final award(if you have a copy) and deduce for yourself. Its easy to say K'taka is opposing but the fact remains that its a great injustice.I wonder how such verdicts can uphold the federal unity of this country. While I agree in any dispute not all involved parties would be completely satisfied, this verdict has dealt a death blow to K'nataka. Please note that the Cental govt lost no time in notifying the interim order into a gazette in 1991 and is threatening to do so now but recall a similar verdict give in 1980s in the case of dispute b/w Punjab & Haryana on Ravi - Beas sharing which even to this day has not been notified. Now is'nt that defiance as well?
The current verdict as so many glaring blunders which favour TN which K'nataka cannot accept at any cost.
