TN has only one major river - Cauvery. Karnataka has many Krishna, Godavari besides Cauvery. Water cannot be shared based upon from which state does it originate or what the catchment area %age is, but based upon needs.
No award can be perfect for Karnataka if it has to share water with any of the states whether its AP , TN or Goa.

If the Union Govt cannot solve this problem, then we should wonder why the hell we are living in this Union.

You are right Mr.Ramanathan that there are many rivers in karnataka krishna, godavari etc etc etc... Have you ever thought where those rivers originate and in which directions they flow...

Krishna : The river Krishna rises in the Western Ghats, at an altitude of 1,336 metres near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra, flows from west to east for a length of about 1,400 km, through Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The Krishna has a drainage area of about 2.59 lakh sq km. Together with its trihutaries, it flows for about 704 km length in the State. SO WHAT DO THE PEOPLE IN SOUTH KARNATAKA DO??????? and please do check this link you will get an idea

Tnxs

Wait till there is another direction on the sharing of Krishna and Godavari waters with AP. Karantaka seems to fighting with all its neighbours by following a narrow approach on sharing of waters. They have a built a huge dam called Almatti to reduce downstream flow of water to AP and this causing serious water problems to farmers in AP. Why should only Karantaka farmers benefit from waters of rivers which are national resources? This shows the narrow mindedness of the govt. there.

Lets also not forget Godavari and other rivers like Bheema and one river that goes to Godavari.
THe point being with inspite of so many rivers, Kar has history of fighting with its neighbouring states and even Supreme Court pointed this out.

Its all about attitude of sharing.

Mr. K Ramanathan,
u seem to be modern day Bhagirath! U brought Godavari river to Karnataka! Thanks a ton.

It is a pity that ignorant people like you make comments here as if you are de facto experts on water sharing.

This attitude is exactly why Union cannot
You are not people of unity and solidarity. You only think of yourself.
There are differences between Kannadigas, Maratas or North Indians and everybody else. Only Tamilians talk about not being in the union!
Yep, dont live in this union. You are free to go to move Sri Lanka! Simhalas will teach you a lesson!
