Not enough experts in the tribunal
by JM on Feb 07, 2007 12:30 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

I would love to know the qualification of the members of the tribunal. Typically a tribunal should consist of agriculturalists, economists, scientists and other experts in water management apart from people with legal expertise.

But it looks like the tribunal only has people with legal expertise- retired judges!

One of the reasons a tribunal is setup so that litigations in supreme court can be avoided on policy matters but the tribunal seems to screw up time and again!

Practically every paper has the names and qualifications of the tribunal. Instead why are you constituting your own tribunal of retd judges here?!

There head of the tribunal is a retired judge.

With the flawed decision, the tribunal has proved that there is lack of expertise in the tribunal.
