verdict on cauvery
by Jawahar Paulraj on Feb 06, 2007 12:14 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is a healthy sign to share the limited cauvery water resource by the four states. The states have to take initiative to effectively utilise the water. Hope my fellow friends from Karnataka will abide by the verdict.

Hi Ponnappa, After analysing for 17 years and having all statistical data tribunal has come with their conclusion....do u think tribunal decision is wrong or do u think they don't considered...(what ur talking about).
Among all states in india, except Karnataka other state citizens cannot stay peacefully....why is that happening...what the government is doing ????Why they couldn't do any proper action....

suhas, get u r facts correct, inspite of all irrigation projects still, farmers committing suicide in karnataka. well peopel r thirsty, rather then comment on karnataka, why don't u try convence successive govts at the centre to implement inter linking of rivers project . start writing mails on it, not scream on a state with is so much important for the progress of the country.

in the past 25 years only twice water has reached the sea. Why? Last year KN did not release water in summer, instead it allowed all the dams to overflow during peak monsoon and then released water, causing flooding in Srirangam. Ofcourse the water had to go to the sea. Which is why the tribunal order makes sense- periodic release not sudden off-loading!
