Tribunal verdict
by Ramachandran S on Feb 05, 2007 05:29 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

A dispassionate view, considering the merits of the case, indicates that the century old dispute has again been settled in favor of the dominant and powerful. The misfortune of India is that those who have the muscle power to dictate terms can pretty much get away with anything. Justice can be influenced to get advantages that no sense of fairness can recommend. I wonder if this is the kind of India that our children would want to live in - where discrimination reigns, and where focused interest groups can get away with blackmail, force and what have you. The message for India is that only some states will be allowed to live and others have to be subservient to them, since the state, administration and judiciary all will be on the side of the former. A sad day indeed for India.

I am with you Ramachandran, truely a sad day for india. this shows that people who are kind hearted and show hospitality are looted and stabbed in their own house by the so called guests. We have lost all hopes on the judiciary

Kannadigas should change their way of thinking if they are to continue in the union of India. If they think that they belong to India, let them adhere to rules and the decree of the court, or else look out some space in some alien planet.
