Looking at your comments, Mr. Kumar, it looks like you know more about tamilians and their culture than the people of tamil nadu themselves... also you say drought in tamil nadu is much worse... so being a non-south Indian you know a lot about Tamil Nadu.. I appreciate your interest in tamil nadu... though your hometown might have lot of itz own problems(if you are truly not from tamil nadu... look at my 2 points which is not generated of my own, but globally know and you can check with any government or any media news papers..
1) 562 tmc to Tamil Nadu versus 175 tmc to Tamil Nadu(source.. this article itself) 2) 3 crops per year by tamil nadu versus 2 crops by karnataka
if itz false i would accept whatever you say(check about the truth of these points anywhere)..... after finding these 2 facts are true, if you still think itz unfair.. then go to school and educate yourself and come out of narrow mindedness

first of all, this article doesnt say how much Karnataka wants and how much they want to release to TN. Karnataka has generally been unfair with water just because it originates from there. During the extreme drought in South India, most news was based in TN not Karnataka. This is from english dailies in the north which are not biased towards either state. This makes think that water wasnt shared equally (based on need not absolute equally) by Karnataka.
When rain is bountiful, will a state release more water than is warranted from another state. Similarly, it should release the same amount during drought. Well thats based on equality. I dont believe that. i think during drought, everyone should take the hit, not just the state downstream.
For your information, i live in Hyderabad now and not a Tamilian or a Kannadiga (or a telugu for that matter). I am a proud North Indian. My message is that as Indians we need to share resources, not look at it from our own state's view. Since South Indians are myopic in general, you need North Indians to sort it out else this can even lead to breakup of the country.

Dont you agree that Karnataka has done something very anti-national by delaying the release of Bollywood movies. Similar to the Kannadigas, the Tamilians, etc have not shown much national unity as the North Indians. How many South Indians die for our motherland in wars. Most independence fights were all northern based. In fact, South India would not be independent if it were not for us in North India.
