Touche, Monsieur Gautier
by Abhinav Dasgupta on Jan 13, 2008 10:26 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I congratulate Francois Gautier on bringing to light an altogether different perspective on the slain leader. However, I am doubtful in connection with his last line: "History will tell". Unfortunately, history is written by the powerful, not the subaltern, and in today's world, the pseudo-secular press that my fellow readers have alluded to is what calls the shots. Bhutto will probably live on in history as what the global press has glorified her as: A Martyr for Democracy.

Her interview is again an eyeopener to political idiots of our country, that when you get a chance to push, you have to shove it. We has so many golden opportunities to finish this scrooge once and for all. During Bangladesh war we had 1 lak POWs by which we could have even bargained POK back. But we didnt. After all we have to keep our sicular, dove of peace of image to world. In 1948 if Nehru had given even 48 hrs to army there wouldnt have been a POK and the resulting terrorism. Why, even during partition if we insisted all muslims should be taken to Pakistan Jinna wouldnt have wanted Pakistan.
