The late Benazir Bhutto's assassination has to be condemned in the strongest of terms. Her life was snatched away when she was at the pinnacle of her political career.
However, is it not ironical that a person who considered herself to be the Champion of Democracy wanted to have a dynastic rule for her party? Does not democracy start right at the grass root level? Are not party leaders elected from within the members of the party? How can people anoint their relatives and friends to be leaders in their will? Just because you happen to be a Bhutto or, as in the case of our country, a Gandhi, does it give the family the license to rule the country, irrespective of qualification or experience?
These are some questions that the intelligentsia of both India and Pakistan need to ask.

Another Bhutto being perpared to lie in the barren sands of Larkana along with his forefathers! ABob Dylan's lines from "Blowing in the wind" are relevant in this context-"How many deaths will it take to be known that too many people have died, The answer my friends is blowing in the wind" When will the Bhuttos, Gandhis, Vadras of this subcontinent learn that dynasties are no longer relevantin the globalised context? Another recently booted out dynasty in our region is the royal family of Nepal

Yeah. By her will she is saying:"I don't care if my son is a goof ball like Rahul Gandhi. He will take over reins of PPP after I am gone". No wonder PPP means Pichchi Pookula Party...LOL
