This is s brilliant and lucid arms-length assessment which no one should find faulty.

May it never be proved otherwise, ever.

"It is also doubtful whether Benazir could have had any impact on India-Pakistan relations. "
-- A K Verma

Cutlet Gravy, your are looking for proofs?

Tell me is RAW supposed to merely doing some kind of cricket commentary or do something productive. Do you not think we need what is loosely called "Actionable Intelligence"? Do you not believe that RAW could play a meaningful role to bring the two nations on good terms and help out reach common understanding so that so called ISI instigated terror is scuttled via baatcheet?

If yes, then let us remember not only what Late BB thought and did at the beginning of here life journey but what she concluded towards the end sobered by all experiences in her command. She said she would like to see India and Pakistan have a common currency and common Presidency!

Now the hallowed effort of Late BB, can it or can it not have real and decisive impact on India-Pakistan relationship. It could if we try, not if we say "it is doubtful....".

Your "off side" is showing.

Tell me, do you in your wildest dreams expect any one from RAW (ex or current) to put that in the public domain?

I have read the rest of your comments. Expect no reply from me.

They have already been tackled threadbare by others in the Rediff Discussion Boards.

Get a brain scan done and then report back "off side" !

Those endowed with OLQ shall also have a sense of humour. They will realise that my previous post was without prejudice to your rejoinder. They may think a step ahead as well...

"Benazir, as prime minister ........would have been unable to stem the tide."
-----------
His conclusion, given the present stances of the concerned authorities and powers they be, is unquestionable. The nitpicking in earlier post was mere half truth and half conjecture. The succint analysis Mr. Verma has put forth is indeed lucid and brilliant.

To avert the downslide the only realistic option is full restoration of the Supreme Court which has been at the loggerhead with the present power structure solidly backed by twin super powers. He has clearly implied this in "...have rarely been concerned with nation building or democracy" but has been left unsaid.
