The media and the secular parties are debating whether BJP will revert to Hindutwa agenda. Or, is it that these parties are asking themselves what is the leeway available for them to play the Minority card ? Although Indians never want a la-Malaysia in reverse but they certainly desire a strong no-nonsense administration against terror/ religious fundamentalism and a nationalistic approach guided by the Constitutional secular provisions. Regarding reservation or special fund allocation to minorities, Muslims cannot be compared with SC/ST. Actually the Mughals were our rulers for generations and it was this hangover psyche of Muslim elite which resulted in partion followed by the exodus of the cream of Muslim society of undivided India to Pakistan leaving behind mostly their communities bottom strata in India. Now these people will have to be treated at par with other Indians and allowed to come to grips with the main stream on their own. Constitutionally any special favours for them will be discriminatory against other communities and will be divisive. These Minority related issues will be some of the important issues on which the govt. will necessarily be judged in the next general election. Further, the UPA-LEFT combine at the centre is unable to move forward even an inch fruitfully on any issue of governance. The Indo-U.S. deal is a case in point. From comments on this article it is evedent that far more people are shifting from Congress philosophy to BJP's nationalist philosophy. Congress will suffer big loss in coming elections, that is writing on the wall. If any congress supporter here ignores comments posted here, he is doing a big mistake.
